Reusable nappies - all my nappies are leaking at the legs :(

Been using reusables for maybe a couple of weeks now, the last couple of days every nappy has leaked badly mostly around the legs. I've just put some water into a clean nappy to observe what happens and it has leaked through the bit that's meant to be waterproof, right around the legs!

Have I ruined all the nappies by washing them at sixty degrees?

They are all pocket nappies with fleece linings, been using various different inserts, variety of brands including Chinese cheapies, Dotty Bots, Little Lambs and others, but most seem to have this problem. They were all fine for the first couple of weeks, been using Tescos baby non-bio laundry liquid and washing at 60 degrees.

HELP! Confused

I'm wondering if I've been using too much detergent. Running them all through the machine with no detergent to see if that helps.

The above link might help? Sorry I have no personal experience of reusables but it looks like a good site

Also, just remembered there is a nappies board on here! You could repost in there and I expect will get some replies from someone who actually knows about the subject

In case you haven't had this answered - it could be too much detergent (powder is better than liquid btw - and don't use fabric conditioner) or that the nappies are new(ish). Wash, wash, wash - think of how absorbent old knackered overwashed towels are compared to fluffy new ones. If you're dry pailing (storing in a bucket) then consider soaking overnight before washing. You also don't need to wash at 60 but you'd have to consult the manufacturer as to whether it affects the waterproofing. HTH x
