Using a Reusable Nappy Cover with Disposables...?

Not really a potty training question as such, but I thought this was the best place for it...

So, DS is 10 months old, and over the last week has suddenly started to soak through his nappies overnight. It doesn't seem to wake him up, but when he gets up in the morning his vest, pjs, and bedding are sopping.

He's in Size 4+ nappies (he's probably around 22lb, so in the right weight range), we've tried a few brands but it seems to happen regardless.

I was wondering what to do - we could move up to size 5s of course, but he's technically not big enough for them yet and I wonder whether we'll have the same issue when he puts on a few pounds?

I was wondering whether to try a nappy cover - one of the ones used with reusable nappies. I've been digging around online and I can't find any mention of anyone doing this or whether it would work or not.

Does anyone have any experience of trying this?

Just move up to size 5s, they will be that but bigger at the front which will help.

That BIT bigger! Sorry, that reply doesn't make much sense!

We do overnight, and 98% of the time it works well

Sorry, posted too soon.

My DD is 29 months old and in size 6, so we haven't got any bigger nappies to go to.

We use reusable generally but do this with disposable on holiday etc for nights. It works. We use little lamb ones.

What sort of cover do you use Lizlette?

Try getting him to use the toilet also. Sounds mad, but what we did was before bed would take nappy off and hold them over the toilet. They would wee. Then would give bath/ wash over, and hold over toilet again to see if they would wee before putting clean nappy on. This means their bladder is already partly empty before new nappy so they aren't filling potentially straight away, so helps with heavy wetting

We did hold ours over toilet at most nappy changes by 10months and it really helps with potty training later and nappies being less full ( and 99% of poo in toilet!)

It will help. Motherease and Blueberry wraps are great.

Nature babies or blueberry wraps generally. Hope that helps
