Hi my son is 5 in a few weeks an he is still wearing pull ups in the nights, we recently tried a week wiv no pull ups as he doesn't wan to wear them anymore, but even tho we limited his drinks before bedtime, made sure he hsd a long wee before bed, I wud then wake him for a wee around 11 an then again around 4 in the morning, but he was still having accidents in the bed. Some times he'll wake and get changed himself but sometimes he wont wake at all once he's wet the bed. I dont no weather to carry on wiv out the pull ups an carry on waking him in the nites, which he does not like I have to drag him out of bed an hold him up on the toilet, or to put him bac in pull ups an try again in a few weeks. The only problem I have with him stayin in pull ups is I noticed he has got lazy and when he wakes in the morning instead of gpin to the toilet he just wees in the pull ups, and obviously I thats the habbit I want him to get out of!!! I really dont no what to do for the best Confused

Please don't worry about this! It is not classed as a problem until they are 7. Some children just take longer. My daughter is five and still wears night nappies

I wet the bed until I was 9. I now, as an adult do not wet the bed if that helps?

Don't worry about it! My son and several of his friends from school were still in pull ups until after they were 5. Leave it for a while and then try again.

I understand the frustration but having come out the other side I really wouldn't worry. Let it happen in his own time, DS was 6 and it happened naturally with no input from us.

night dryness can't be trained. it's linked to a hormone which sets in sometime before 8 yo.
what you can try is giving lots to drink during the day and let dc use the toilet twice before bed, i.e once before once after toothbrushing.

My sons 6 and still occasionally wets the bed if we've let him have a big drink, or fallen asleep before his last wee. Don't worry about it, it will happen in time.

Thanx I feel alot more at ease now. I will definitely try upin his drinks in the day an takin him to the toilet a few more times before bedtime Smile
