Regression since playgroup and new sibling

DD has been in pull-ups for almost a year. She started training last summer aged 2 1/2. She would diligently pee and poo on the potty when taken, with the odd wet nappy at night. She'd even ask for the toilet when out and about. There was the odd accident but we felt we were getting there.

In the autumn, however, she started playgroup two mornings a week and her baby brother was born. She now no longer announces when she needs a pee or poo, which is really frustrating! She usually has a dry pull-up at night, waking up once crying to be taken to the toilet. She has a mega pee on the potty before breakfast, but despite regular trips we often seem too late to catch her in time during the day. She is usually happy to do a big pee on the potty before bed. She'd always announce that she needed a poo and do them on the potty, but in the last week she has been doing them in her nappy without saying anything.

She's 3 next month and it feels like we've gone backwards not forward. Playgroup are aware she's training, although they may well use a different technique with the children (we live in France).

Is it right/normal to feel stressed? She starts infant school in September and needs to be "dry" by then, according to their rules!

I'd just like to say I have no advice because I'm in a similar situation. Baby brother arrived and DD has regressed. She seems to regress every time there is a slight change in her routine though. I'm trying to stay calm about it but it's so difficult especially when you have a newborn and you're knackered!! Hopefully someone will be along with some words of wisdom soon!

I can't say I know the feeling regarding the younger sibling but I do feel frustrated with regards to potty training regression at nursery.

I don't know what it's like in your nursery Walshywoo, but we also live in France and despite DS's significant progress in the last couple of weeks, the nursery seems to have given up trying to help him in that area. At the start they didn't even have a potty, only the cold toilet bowl which DS isn't used to! I think that they've even stopped asking him if he'd like to go!

It makes me so mad as I have to "catch up" on the lost progress every weekend! :-(

What did your playgroup say to/advise you about her potty training?
