Travel potty?

Does your little one use a travel potty when out & about? If so, which ones are good/practical?

My daughter doesn't really use her travel potty, but when went to Florida a while back and took this it's really great. She had no problems using it and it was very easy to use and store.

I second itsonly's suggestion. DS1 got on really well with the potette although the liners are v expensive.

I thought they looked like a really good idea, but when we actually started potty training I never used one. We just used public toilets whenever we could and very occasionally had to go behind a tree!

I walk or take public transport so it would have been one more thing to carry about. It was better to carry spare clothes and a towel for when she was sat on my lap in case of an accident. You can't get a travel potty out on a crowded bus anyway.

What Mewling said. Lots of friends with slightly older children used them, I thought they were a good idea and was all set to buy one but when we started training DS about three weeks ago, it just never came up, and as I'm a non-driver, I couldn't face carrying it about, and we just found loos or went behind bushes. It helped that DS got it almost immediately, and we've had very few emergency wees. As a pp said, you can't use them on a bus/train/ in a theatre, anyway.

DD has used hers all over the country from the side of the A1 in a traffic jam and dogs in the back seriously considered using it myself but my bottom is too big to the car park in town when the public loos were out of order and the shops here won't allow the jo public to use their loos for health and safety reasons.

Agree though that you wouldn't want to carry it around, it's more of leave in the back of the car item.

She hasn't used it yet, but I personally think it's ace

When using potette - don't buy the expensive liners - plastic carrier bag with nappy booster will work (or a sposie if that's what you used to use)

My son Uses a my carry potty, they have a tight seal lid so they don't leaks when being carried if you can't dump it. It's great looks like a little lunch box

I never used one - my daughter picked things up pretty quickly but she has been known to have a wee on the side of the road on a long journey! I'm too lazy and too tight to pay for and use a travel potty!!

I have this www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00LE9OH32/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?qid=1418596527&sr=8-10&pi=AC_SX110_SY165 for Ds and have used it a few times, mostly in the car. Apparently it's unisex but think it would be difficult to use with a girl. Really cheap tho and no liners, you just wash it out

yes - we used it. dd couldn't squat to pee until she was over 2.
