I started potty training dd on Saturday aged 2yrs3months, as according to Gina Ford she was showing all the signs of being ready. Saturday was hard, and as the day went on and rolled into Sunday a worrying trend emerged. She was able to say she needed the potty, but was becoming increasingly distressed whenever she actually started to open her bladder and would stop herself midflow. Despite putting her back into nappies on Monday, this has continued. She will scream "I need a wee", get out of her pull up, then leap on and off the potty or toilet for up to 3 hours before she can't join it any longer and goes in her pull up. I'm aware I can't undo the stress I've caused her bug don't know what as the top do next. Should I put the potty and toilet seat away completely, or let her sit on when she asks? I worry about the physical and psychological damage she is doing by holding and my health visitor is on holiday. Help, Bx

Take a deep breath and relax.

If she's showing signs and is physically able to use potty/loo then perseverance is key.

Don't let her see that you're anxious/stressed about it. Be calm, practical in your praise and guidance of her.

Holding in pee isn't likely to do her harm, and you're giving her a safe clean place to pee, so you're doing everything right. Let her see you pee, show her how normal it is and praise her when she does the right thing.
