How do I clean a urine soaked mattress? :(

Hi. My DS1 has been dry at night since he potty trained a year ago. He had one accident at night earlier this year when he was poorly and we had a mattress protector on so it wasn't an issue. He shares a king size bed with my husband and during the summer they found the protector made the bed hot and slightly crinkly so we removed it and put one if those waterproof bed sheets just under my son's side.
Anyway, my son is currently poorly again and at about 10pm woke up as he had wet the bed (only second time in a year) but the sheet thing had moved and the mattress is soaked Sad. We only have 2 bedrooms and I'm in the other one with DS2 so there's no where else for them to sleep so we've temporarily covered the wet area and put a clean sheet over the top for the night.
I just have no idea how to clean it or let it dry and it's pretty soaked Sad. We have no other sleeping arrangements available and the mattress is expensive and really heavy (takes two people to turn or even lift it).
I'm sat up feeding DS2 and stressing out about it! Has anyone got any ideas on how to go about cleaning it?, we definitely can't afford a new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated! The mattress protector goes back on after this incident!

If you can get hold of a steam cleaner it should do the job. Failing that give it a good wash with biological detergent and water, rinse thoroughly and then use bicarb to neutralise the smell. Leave it to air for as long as you can. If the mattress has been badly soaked it can be very hard to get it out. If it's an expensive mattress you could try claiming for accidental damage on your home insurance.

Thank you! I don't know anyone with a steam cleaner so I've gone with the bio washing liquid and bicarb. The smell has gone which is the main thing. Just got to try and get it dry now! I've had the hairdryer on it, just might have to keep giving it a blast over the next day or so to really dry it out.

I have used cat litter to draw out moisture and bicarb to help with the smell. After that shampoo with detergent or soapy thing of your choice and then get the hairdryer on it if you can't air it easily.
