Night time potty training

Ds1 is pretty much sorted during the day, the occasional accident. But nighttime still wet.

However I mean wet. So he wakes soaking. I just went to lift him. To get him on the potty at 930pm before I go to bed and his bed is soaking. He is often wet at 5am or desperately needs a wee which wakes him up and he rarely goes back to sleep.

Help!

How old is he? My son is nearly 5 and still in nappies at night but has been dry during the day for two years. It's worth reading up about vasopressin (sp?) it's a hormone they need to be dry at night.

It's worth reading the ERIC website.

what age is he? You cant really train for night-time as it relies on a hormone being produced that suppresses urine production overnight plus they need to be able to wake when their bladder is full. It isnt considered an issue until age 7/8ish.

Does he drink a lot before bed? Can you use a bigger, more absorbent nappy?

I don't think I was clear! He's only 3 and I have absolutely no expectation he should be dry. He wears nappies and I am absolutely fine withy that. But he's so wet the nappies leak and soak the bed! It wakes him up.

Pampers pull ups are rubbish for night and we also have used the Huggies night nappies- they too leak...

Help!

Use proper nappies rather than pull ups. I never got on with huggies at all. Does he need a bigger size?

My son is the same I have found pull ups rubbish at night. Pamper s or aLdis are the best at night

My son is nearly five and we use pampers baby dry size 6+. We've had about two leaks in the same number of years and his nappies are VERY wet. We tried a pull-up once and it leaked everywhere.

I agree - you definitely need a nappy with more absorbency. I use Pampers Baby Dry size 6 for my 2.8 yr old.

I agree about the pampers baby dry range, size five or six should do the trick. Stopping fluid intake two hours plus before bedtime may help.
