22 month old terrified of bath after pooping in it....

I'm not really sure if this is a potty training question but I thought this might be the best place. My daughter has pooped in the bath three times in the last month - each time becoming more and more obsessed with it. We didn't scold her in any way - just tried to reassure her that its ok. But, she is absolutely terrified of it now to the point that we haven't been able to give her a bath for a week (she is reluctant but willing to come in the shower with me for a few minutes. We were on holiday last week and she also refused to go swimming (saying in a sad voice "poo poo bath") though she normally loves swimming. We hoped that coming home would make her get over it but tonight she wouldn't get near the bath. Also she now gets upset when she does a poo at all and cries to have her nappy changed even before she starts - like she is scared of having it in her nappy. Also she is asking us often for a nappy change when she doesn't need one.

We haven't started potty training yet. She has a potty but hasn't shown any interest in and she really doesn't want to sit on the toilet. I was just going to wait until she showed an interest but I'm wondering if this is all a sign that we should try to speed it up, as she clearly is uncomfortable with having poo anywhere near her.

We have tried a few things - just telling her its ok and not to worry about it.Also we put some of her favourite toys in the bath. We have been flushing her poos down thd toilet and saying "bye bye" which she thinks is fun but it hasnt improved anything. Not sure what else to do!

Any advice would be much appreciated! I feel terrible for her as she is quite distraught and fixated on it - poor thing has developed quite a complex!
