How many wees a day for toddler?

I have been toilet training my 2.9 ds and it has been going very well, but have noticed he doesn't do many wees in a day and the ones he does are very large. Is that normal?

Also he seems to have toilet trained himself at night. He often has a dry nappy in the morning. That means he goes 10 hours without a wee, is that normal at this age?

Excellent! It sounds as though your DS has trained himself very well Smile.

DS2 was exactly the same, dry at night at the same time as being dry in the day. Doing fewer, larger, wees shows that he is managing to 'hold' his bladder well (like older children & adults do). DD is also 2.9 and still does lots of little wees throughout the day & is nowhere near being dry at night.

So long as you are sure your DS is drinking enough then everything sounds great. I am rather Envy TBH! Grin

I hope the luck continues then :) he has much better bladder control then I do.

He is not a big drinker, has about a cup of milk a day in total and I'm not sure how much water Blush I have not been very observant of these things at all Blush He always has a water bottle to drink available to drink from however so I trust he drinks when he needs to. I shouldn't have to monitor this should I?

Are you having to refill the water bottle during the day? Some people naturally drink less than others but a cup of milk doesn't sound like much really.

So long as he is having at least some of the water & not showing any signs of dehydration then I am sure he is fine Smile.

I'm not sure about refilling the water bottles. He has 2, one at home and one we take out.

I tend to wash out and refill the one in his room a couple of times a day out of habit, I dont really pay much attention to how much he drinks. He quite often does drink a whole bottle when we go out for a morning or afternoon. I will try and take more notice of this.

It sounds like he is having enough to drink then, so I wouldn't worry Smile.

Thanks :) I never thought of checking for dehydration at this age but I will keep an eye on it now.
