I just need some light relief from it all. I know it's not terribly funny for DD at the time but sometimes accidents do make me laugh.
The other day she pooed on the carpet while I was getting her dressed. I scooped up the bulk of it with a wetwipe and asked DH to come and help us out as there was still mess to be cleaned up.
Cue DH rushing in, kneeling down with concerned look on his face and asks 'where did she poo?'
Coincidentally, right where he'd kneeled down Grin
Do share your stories with me please.

My dd decided that the toilet was far to far away from the playroom, so did a mahoosive poo in baby Annabel's potty, she was mightily pleased with herself :)

LOL Cath, well at least she used a potty. It probably takes more skill/precision on a doll potty.

Lol to both stories! I once left DS watching videos on my laptop whilst I sorted out laundry. He came running in to find me and tell me he needed a wee wee, fine he can sort himself out so I went back to hanging up my clothes. After a bit I realised he'd not been gone long enough to actually do anything so I went to find him. Sure enough, there he was sat on the sofa on his potty! I wanted to get a photo but didn't want to do anything that might, as it were, rock the boat and result in wee all over the sofa. Couldn't argue with his ingenuity Grin

The ultimate convenience. Sofa and potty in the same place Grin. They do make me laugh.

Grandad panicked when DS squatted to poo on the floor so he reached out and caught it in his hands. Yuk!

We postponed potty training DD who seems ready at almost 2yo but insists on calling her potty 'hat' and using it accordingly. Think we'll wait and go straight to the toilet like DD1 did :)

Not quite potty related but close enough. DD2 frequently pulls her nappy off to poo but we often don't find anything except the dog with a strange grin on his face Confused

My dd did a poo in her knickers this afternoon whilst we were in the middle of a massive soft play thingie. She was quite upset and I was having to coax her over obstacles to try and get her out. I couldn't carry her because the damn thing is built for people who are 3 foot tall. And I couldn't find the way out. It's funny now. But it was really stressful at the time!!

I can add to this amusement. My ds did a big wee in an inflatable Thomas the Tank ball pit with 200 balls in it! That wasn't a good day ;-)

We decided in summer to roll up the rug and leave the potty out for DD to use if she wanted - hadn't started potty training properly. Lo and behold she did a poo almost straightaway. I was so chuffed I was busy texting my DM, leaving DH to clean out the potty.

I could hear DD saying " me pooed" from inside the house. Cue me saying "oh yes darling, I know, how clever" followed by DH shrieking. I run in to see poo on the rug, which she has stood in, and trodden all over the tiles. DH put the potty down, only for the dog to start licking it Shock [vomit emoticon].

I whisk DD up the stairs, her poo-covered foot being wiped on my leg, only to head DH shriek again, as the dog ate the poo on the rug. Scarred I tell you... Scarred. We put potty training off for a while and didn't speak to the dog for days Grin

I love potty training stories!!!

CatWithKittens · 04/01/2014 11:45

Not quite potty training but my mother and I went to get one of our daughters up from a nap - she was about 18 months. She had removed her nappy, wiped its contents on the cot and wall sides as though painting (in a very primitive style) and was standing up. As we went in she pointed firmly at a small leaf on the floor and said "Urrh - dirty - dirty!!". It was, as my DH commented, the most effective mitigation possible as we found it impossible to say anything for laughter, which kept coming back to the surface even during the cleaning process.
