Potty training out and about

I am wanting to try dd without nappies again for the third time soon. Is it possible to do this and not be confined to the house for a week? I have dd 2.8 and dd2 7 months and I have to leave the house once a day or I go crazy. Can handle staying in when dp is off work. The last few times we tried I stayed in and around the house though was summer so we were in and out of the garden so was easier to stay in. Dd seems not keen on the garden currently.

What do you do out and about? Has anyone had any success with training pants? We tried pull ups but dd just used them as a nappy.

we used the terry training pants, seemed to work as they are more like pants but are not cheap

I had two pairs on a wear one, wash one system

also plan your trips out, is their a convenient toilet? make car trips short

good luck

Just lots of change of clothes

Don't be out too long, spare clothes and a towel for the stroller/car seat just in case, plan your trip around toilets and above all else, be prepared to get thoroughly bloody sick of the sound of your own voice saying "do you need a wee?"

Thanks, nice to hear I don't have to stay in, no car and dd is walking/buggy board so no need to worry about that. Some days it is just walk to the shops/swings or out to the library. Do I take out a potty if a toilet isn't available?

change of clothes and i have one of those pottette potties for my dd.

with my boys it was easy rhey could just wee in a bush but dd wouldnt. the pottette is great, folds up and is easy to use etc.

i just keep it under the pushchair.

oh it can also be used as a toddler seat on a normal toilet as well.

Yes I would take a pot for a dd.
Don't forget spare shoes, they fill up pretty quickly Wink
