Regression - why?

DD (2.6) has been dry for six weeks now and has done brilliantly, having pretty much trained herself in three days - she completely initiated it and I was the one that wasn't ready!

Anyway, the last couple of days she's been caught out and has weed in her knickers a few times saying "I need a wee!", but it's too late. She had been completely dry since day three.

Is it possible that the novelty's warn off a bit and she's bored of it now? I know it's common but why do these regressions happen?

It's only when she's in the house, too. Oh and she's more often than not asking to go the big girl's toilet rather than the potty now, if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

Sounds just like my DD, same age, she seems to have a day or so of accidents then is fine again. I think it's just purely that they get board of it - it's much more fun playing. I just ask my dd if she needs to go after a couple of hours if she isn't showing any sign of going. I've also learnt the signs that she might be needing to go. I gently remind DD that she must say if she needs the toilet. Bear with it I have been told most children do this. Good luck

Thanks, Limy, TBH, these little accidents have happened on Daddy's watch when I've been at work and I don't think he had reminded her to go.

It was all very easy for us to just think, oh well, that's it, she's dry, job done. But I guess it's still early days.
