Washing machine getting tired ....

I am totally confused! Decided to potty train my 2.5 year old just before Christmas which went really well. I'd say in the last 2 months it's all gone terribly wrong.

Poos don't seem to be a problem (yet) she goes off and does them on potty or toilet but for example 2 days ago we had 6 changes of clothes from wee accidents and day before was pretty similar.

I was very upset yesterday but read you need to stay calm so thought would start potty training again. Morning went ok but you could see she needed a wee as she sticks her bum out but if you asked her she would say I don't need a wee, when she clearly did, but managed to get her to go. Lunch time she lay on sofa and was really tired and just turned to me and said I've wet myself. It was a full blown wee in her leggings and all over sofa. I asked why she did it and she said because I did. I also read that you should make them go and get clean knickers and change of clothes as if she wets at nursery she tells them mummy will change me. Which is what we did after the accident. Then about half an hour later she just took herself off to potty and did a wee and was very pleased to show me. Made a big fuss. Rest of day was a struggle to get her to go but no accidents.

Totally confused as she is intelligent enough to know she needs to go but is totally resisting.

A few months back she was waking in mornings with a dry nappy and even asking to go in the night or first thing in the morning but now has a totally full wee nappy. She has even asked to wear her old nappies at night and not the pull up ones.

Her daddy works away a fair bit but has done so since she was born but didn't know if she was more conscience of it now and is wetting herself for attention or if I'm looking at an infection or something. Feeling like I'm doing something really wrong.

Anyone has ideas I'd be most grateful as pulling my hair out.

Many thanks

DD1 went through a phase of this. She initially trained very easily at 2.5 but months after, she started wetting herself on a daily basis. She was the same as your DD, she knew she was doing it. The only thing that worked for us was bribery!

I'm trying everything from chocolate buttons to saying she can have 1 pound if she gets through day without wetting..... She still is very strong willed though. So frustrating.

I sympathise. Mine is very wilful too. To be honest, it only stopped when she got bored of it I think!
