potty training twin 36 month old boys. Any help?

Was going to potty train my twin boys during our last long hot summer - ha ha. They will be 3 at the beginning of April and I think I should get rid of the nappies. How did you get on with your twin boys? Any tips? What did you wish you had done differently? They will sit on toilet/potty and wee now sometimes, but rarely ask to have nappies changed or say they have done a poo. In fact they often deny it or blame the other twin for any smells to avoid the inconvenience of having nappy changed.

I've got b/g twins and I trained them separately, as they were ready at different times. If you can pick your boys off one at a time it is much easier than doing it in parallel.

sorry not much help to offer except to say that it can be hard work (and I don't have twins) so just accept that it'll take a while and there will be accidents. My friend with twins got someone to help out for the first few days, which probably isn't a bad idea if that's an option. But hers were a bit younger ? you might find yours take to it quite quickly because at 36 months they get the point of it.

Also, lots of people will disagree but I think rewards (whether it's stickers or tictacs) are not a terrible thing. They stop asking for/expecting them as soon as they've got the hang of it in my experience.

Having said all that, I'm sure someone with some first-hand experience will come along shortly to offer advice.

Thanks for your input. Sooo tired have to go to bed. Will think about doing them individually. Can see it would be easier than running after 2 with kitchen roll. And yes I think I will get some stickers. Or maybe I'll wait til they're 4 yo :))

Oh yes do rewards. I used sweets as an immediate reward for each successful wee/poo, then a small present (a toy around £5) once each dc was reliably using the potty. I used this to signal the end of the sweets, and they got to choose the toy themselves.

DS took a while to crack pooing, he just didn't seem bothered about sitting in pooey pants. Was very frustrating. In the end I got him some Fireman Sam pants, but said he shouldn't wear them till the pooing was sorted, as it would be awful to poo on Fireman Sam . That was the trigger that worked for him, I don't think he had another poo accident from that point.
