My daughter is 27 months and i started potty training 6 days ago. Really struggling as she still makes no attempt to go to the potty. I have been stuck in the house and constantly cleaning up wee and poo is driving me crazy.

Should i carry on or am i giving up too soon ? I am getting fed up but equally dont want to give up too soon and have to go through it all again !

I am using a sticker chart, chocolate buttons and lots of praise but she just doesnt seem to know before hand that her wee is coming ..........

Any advice for a first time mum would be appreciated.

If it is a surprise to her when she wees, then imo she's not ready. You will do no harm by giving it a rest for a few weeks and trying again later.

We tried DD in pants at the same age as she was regularly weeing on the potty and wanted to wear pants. I didn't last long as she obviously didn't have the inclination/ability to hold onto her wee when necessary to ask for/get to the potty/toilet.

We put her back in nappies but carried on taking her to the potty every few hours. Nursery helped by putting her on the poty when taking all the other children.

One month later she was back in pants and it's a toally different story. She takes herself to the potty when she wants to at home, and 'holds on' until we take her to the toilet when we are out. We have managed days out (including an evening stay at the Olympics) without accidents. She is also dry at night, so we have ditched nappies altogether.

What I'm trying to say is that you are not a failure by putting daughter back in nappies for a while. A month makes such a difference. You can't carry on being a virtual prisoner in your home. Putting your daughter back in nappies for a month or so will not do her any harm, or delay the time when she will be happy/ready to wear pants.
