Potette have a reuseable liner!

Have just seen it online, a flexible silicone type thing that fits over the potette seat and can be folded. I always thought potettes were great, but what do you do on holiday at your destination accommodation where you could empty and clean a pot and your toddler won't use it in loo seat mode? Use all your expensive disposable liners (very wasteful imo) or take /buy another potty there?

I can see it being popular because it will mean the potette is used more as a conventional potty, going some way towards justifying its cost although the reuseable liners are about £10 each. But it is still small enough to take around wherever you go which is the main issue with air travel. And the environmentally conscious can still have the benefits of a reuseable folding potty.

How do you transport it once it's full though?

Well, you use the disposable bags when there is nowhere to empty it, but the reusable liner is good for using in your holiday accommodation or in restaurants loos where you have the opportunity to empty and clean it. The main advantage is that it folds with the potette so that you don't have a bulky rigid pot to cart about. You can still fit a disposable bag over the top of the reusable bit if you need to. You can see them on Amazon.co.uk.

I guess the hardcore environmentally conscious will use cloth nappy boosters to soak up the wee and take them home to wash!

I guess if you've got a child who refuses to use it in loo seat mode it would be helpful.

I've yet to try it with DD but luckily DS never had a problem with using the Potette in either mode and everywhere we might have used it, he'd be using the seat to sit on the loo so I wouldn't have needed it. She's totally different to him though so maybe I'll be desperate for one in a few months :)

The link to Amazon is here if anyone needs it. It comes in pink too.

Ooh, boosters - that's a good idea (disclaimer: not hardcore but object to paying extortionate prices for essentially a plastic bag with a sanitary pad at the bottom, and have child in cloth anyway!) Actually it's redundant as dd refuses to use it either as a potty or a loo seat. Subject of another thread...
