How to get poo out of pants, pee out of carpet etc

This may sound incredibly stupid but (as the title says) I've never had to remove poo from pants/tights/trousers or anything else for that matter, had to get pee out of carpet or anything like that until we started potty training DD and am not sure of the best & most hygenic way to go around it.
So, I've got a bucket & scrubbing brush specifically for this purpose and, for poos, am putting anything with poo on it in the bucket with some napisan & boiling water, leaving it for a bit, giving it a good scrub, rinsing it through a couple of times & then putting it in the normal wash. If its just pee, I'm rinsing it through with very hot water & then putting it in the normal wash. Is this what you do or am I missing some key stage?
Touch wood. DD hasn't done a wee on a rug yet (our house has cheap, nasty laminate throughout which I'm suddenly finding very convenient) but, if she does, what do I do once I have mopped it up?
Anything else I need to know?

Confused

I just shook off the lumps and put it in the washing machine.

For wee accidents on the carpet I just put an old towel down and stood on it until it was all soaked up, if you give them lots of water to drink, their wee is pretty diluted so it doesn't smell.

For poo accidents on the carpet I used that carpet 1001 spray cleaning stuff.

Although thinking about it, if trousers, pants etc were really soaked they seemed to wash better if you put them alone in the machine and do a rinse cycle first, then add the rest of the wash load and wash as usual.

I used to find lumps of poo in my wash if i wasn't very careful.

if mine pooed in pants i just binned them - lazy but easy option!

if they wee on the floor u need to spray it with dettol (or something simialar) once youve cleaned/dried it. bertie surely if you just dry it with a towel ur floor will begin to smell of wee???

OP if you have mainly laminate dont worry too much, atleast that is easy. what about just take the rug up for a couple of days til she gets more reliable, then put it back down. That is what i would do, then you dont have to worry

It doesn't smell of wee, honestly. Maybe DS has particularly non-smelly wee or something? You could always use the carpet cleaner stuff on it if it did smell.

Well experience of washing cloth nappies says you don't want to rinse in hot as that can set the stain and the smell, not nice. Rinse and soak in cold instead.

For wees in pants, just rinse in cold then put in with the rest of the wash (or just do a prewash). Poos just scrape and rinse. You can always add a drop or two of tea tree or a slug of vinegar in the rinse cycle to sanitise.

On the carpet, soak/scrape up as much as possible then a quick wash with soapy water with a splash of vinegar and tea tree seems to do the trick.

Rinse pants in cold water and put in the washer with the rest of the washing - if you are worried about smells put some white vinegar in the drum. It helps get rifdo of the smell and no, your washing doesn't smell of vinegar!

Get rubber glove, put pooey pants in toilet, flush and shake in the water, gets most of it off. Then into bucket with washing powder of choice before dumping In Washing machine. Dettol lavender and orange oil with water for mopping up pees. Doesnt have that bleugh Dettol smell or Zoflora old lady stink!
