How old is too old for a potty

My DD is 3.6 and we've finally cracked it, she tells me when she needs to go. She still uses the potty at home, although she uses the small toilets at pre-school, so when should I take the next step of taking the potty away?

We don't have a downstairs loo so a potty is handy downstairs, but she also uses the potty upstairs too.

Buy a toilet seat and just encourage her to go to the toilet.

I never used a potty, ds thought it was a hat Hmm , but all the talk of poo going for a poo party and pee feeds the fish helped alot!

Also let her see you tip the potty contents down the loo so she know where it all goes.

Thanks, we have a training seat in the bathroom but she prefers to use the potty next to it...I feel cruel taking the potty away and I wouldn't want her to regress...

We had a "potty fairy" Grin take our potty and leave buzz lightyear in its place. DS quite happy with this as a trade.

Ds just stopped using it after being dry for a few months. I started asking him to use the toilet once I knew he could on his own. It backfired when he was desperate to go on the motorway and refused to use the potty in the car so had to do a mad dash to proper toilets at the services!

You can get a toilet seat in argos that has a small toilet seat inside it for the little ones to use makes them feel safer as some of those put in seats are rather unsteady. Got ours already although we have only just started training
