Night time training, but still in a cot - it doesn't matter, does it?

DD is 2 1/2, dry in the day, and for the past week, dry pull ups in the morning and then a huge wee in the potty when she wakes up. We are proposing trying her with no nappy next week, if she continues to be dry, but will we ruin the chances of success because she is still in a cot and therefore won't be able to get out for a wee if she does need one?

Do you think she'll just shout for us?

It is pointless trying to potty train at night when they are still in a cot much easier to have them in a bed.

oh really? I assumed that as she doesnt seem to need to go till she gets up, it was worth a try. I guess the nighttime training will have to wait then!

Just take the side off the cot.

If you are going to night train then they need to get to the potty quickly. I think that taking the side of the cot is a good idea. Cot sheets and cot duvets are easier to wash than a full size bed. We have dd in a toddler bed as it makes it less work for dealing with accidents.

thanks. We will wait I think, as I'm not willing to have disrupted nights with getting in and out of bed as well as wees!

I don't think you can night train in a cot. I would leave pull ups on until ready to go into a bed. Unless you are happy for her to shout for you and you are happy to jump out of bed???
