He is 4 in April. Introduced the potty after his 2nd birthday - just left it in the bathroom & one in the kitchen so he saw them every day. He was 2yrs 7months when he started weeing in them. Then stopped this time last year durunbg the 1/2 term week. Refused to go back to wee in it & started going outside in the garden in the summer. I thought "great at least he wees" then summer ended & he decided he still wanted to go outside! I stopped him & said "potty or wet yourself" & eventually after a few days of weeing on the floor he gave in & used it. All going great - didn't need prompting to go. So this yesterday the faires came & took the potty away & left him some snazzy stickers to put on a chart.

Today we've had 4 wet pants/trousers & dripping wet floor. Sticker chart is up int he bathroom & I've told him "5 wees in the toilet & I take you to the shop for a present". To no avail!!!

He will not & never has pooed in a potty/toilet neither. Will use a nappy for this.

Miraculously he is dry during the night & has been for about 2 months!!!!

The potty is definately not coming back.

He's in school from 11am-3pm & weed in the potty before going & immediately after coming home.

HELP!! Any advide gratefully received! xxx

Forgot to add he says he's scared of the loo (but won't say exactly what of) but he's previously emptied the wee down the loo & flushed!

Don't have any practical experience (and have no idea what size he is!), and you may well have thought of all of these but my thoughts would be: have you taken him to choose a special seat for the toilet? Also, do you have a step for him to put his feet on to help him feel a bit more stable? Finally, how often does he see other people - either you or his peers - use a toilet? I've always found peer pressure to be jolly useful, so you could try to talk to him about which of his friends use a grown up toilet?

Thanks fro replying BB. Well I've had success. During the half term week he wqee'd in the toilet! Promised him a McDonalds......and it worked! He has no problems in going alone & will post a sticker on the chart himself.

Now another thing is getting him to poo in the loo!!
