DD 2.3, has been happily using the potty for over a week now. Hardly any accidents at all (maybe one or two). She has been bottom half naked though. The problem is, she doesn't tell me she needs the potty, she just takes her self off and uses it. So as she never asks, I'm a bit worried where to go next with it? She has been having a nappy on when we are out, and also always tells me AFTER she has done a wee on the potty.
If I put knickers only on, she just takes them off (she had always been a a fan of nakedness!).
So do I brave it and have her dressed, with knickers and no nappy, and see how we do, and risk accidents? Not sure if she could undress her self in time if need be.
Any ideas would be great. I am a bit worried about prolonged training/accidents and really don't want to knock her confidence as she has been so good.

TIA

I would go for it. I'm currently potty training my 2.5 yo DD. When she has an accident standing up, the wee is all soaked up by the trousers, so no puddle to clean. Much better than pants only.

Also try to put her in jogging bottoms and leggings (until they run out), as they are easier to pull down.

Thankyou!
Have put knickers and leggings on. One accident (which she looked a bit upset about) and then we re-dressed, had lunch, when all of a sudden she stood up and said "mummy, wee wee!" so we made a mad dash to the potty, but got there in time! So proud of her.
We have a long car journey and a visit out this evening, am I going to cause much harm putting her in a nappy?

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like it's going great.

DD never says in advance, so keeping her dry is currently a matter of taking her regularly to the potty. We didn't do a bare bum stage, maybe we should?

I am certainly no expert! But maybe they need to figure out the feeling of needing to go, and holding it until they get to the potty, on their own. A couple of times DD "dribbled" on the floor, then stopped and run to the potty and sat down. Pretty sure she wouldn't of done that with clothes on, as it would all feel a bit like a nappy?

Since the first knickers and leggings accident, she has asked me everytime to go to the potty. I have not taken her once, she just says "mummy wee wee" so is obviously feeling the urge and understanding it better. Will carry on with the nappy on when out until the end of the week I think. I'm not in a huge hurry to go cold turkey, and even what we are doing is saving massively on nappies as we are only really using one at night, and one when we go out during the day.
Keep up the good work, Silk!
