Anyone got a Potette Plus travel potty?

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had a Potette Plus travel potty? I have bought one today and it all looks good but I am struggling to get the legs to be 'solid' in the potty position? They seem a bit wobbly and I'm wondering if they should lock into place at all?

Any hints or tips gratefully received. Don't really want poor DS to wobble off it.....

Yes, you have to push them up in to the underneath of the seat bit to lock into place. Then you have to pull really quite hard to get them out to fold it up again.

And keep a liner in it at all times so you're ready when it's need in a rush. many was the time I struggled with getting a liner in while child weed gently down it's legs.

Ah so maybe I'm being a bit too gentle with it? I got them to lock in in the toilet seat position but didn't want to break anything.

Yes - good point - it is a bit fiddly to get them round the legs isn't it, and not a lot of use without a liner!

Actually it is useful without a liner, esp if say just for weeing on grass (not ideal I know, but sometimes needs must.

I also at least once put one of the baby's nappies underneath to catch wee or poo when I had run out of liners then disposed of in normal way.

By which i mean, Older child on potette, out of liners, used nappy from baby to catch.

I had an original potette for my DS. I used to leave the legs in position and a liner in place when he was still in training, it was quicker to whip out from under the pushchair then. You can put more than one liner in place, so that you just peel off the used top one and discard, and you are still ready for the next time. Or get into the habit of replacing the used one immediately after each time.

I gather the potette plus is a bit larger than the old potettes, you can make your own liners from cheap pedal bin liners and value sanitary pads, much cheaper than the potette ones. Or you could make use of a plastic carrier with no holes and a big pad of kitchen roll.
