Tips for getting 3yr old dry at night?

DD is 3.2 yrs and has been dry during the day for 9m. Do you have any advice for night time training please? I tried recently but she wet the bed each night and it didn't seem to bother her. She was then ill so we went back to the night time nappy. Any tips greatfully received!
Thanks

I think being dry at night time is not something you can be 'trained' to do. Keep her in nappies until she starts getting up with a dry nappy every morning. Then take her out of nappiess and encourage her to go to the toilet befor she goes to bed, but expect the odd accident here and there.

You can't train them at night like in the day

It is linked to hormones and until there is sufficient, they won't be dry IIRC

AFAIK, it isnt considered an issue by GPs until the age of 6

One of mine was dry at 2.5 years the other age 8, really it doesn't matter, wait until they have dry nappies before even trying.

Top tip: wait until her body produces the hormone required to suppress kidney function through the night - Bingo!

In our area, night time wetting is refered on to see a specialist until they're 7.

My Ds1 was dry in the day at 2.2 and became dry at night a 5.4.

TBH it sounds like she is just not ready yet....

My DS (5, 6 in Aug) was in pull ups at night until he was 4.5....

my DD (3.3) is not ready to be dry at night yet either....

Personally I would wait till either they are dry at night or they ask to wear no pull up/nappy at night times...

My Ds's pull ups were still v heavy in the mornings but one day he just refused to put one on, and said he wanted to try without

But to my Shock he has not had one accident, I think the convenience of him having pull up on meant he used it iyswim.

Thanks very much for your replies eveyone. I had no clue about nighttime dryness and now after reading your messages I can chill and leave it until she's ready. Thanks again.

This is exactly the info I was looking for. My DD is 3 and a half and has been dry during the day since last summer, but at night, wears pull ups and they're heavy with wee in the morning!

Recently people have suggested I 'try' to get her dry at night and I just thought that sounds like a tricky thing to do, short of never giving her a drink and lifting her every hour! But I felt maybe there was something I could be doing to encourage her to get up to use the toilet.

Now that I know it's a hormonal thing, I can leave her alone and save myself a lot of hassle...and her! It's encouraging to read that some kids are not dry at night until around 5 and beyond, as the children DD's age seem to have gone into pants in the day, then dry nights have followed shortly after.

Many thanks
