I know, I know you can't make it happen BUT

Dd doesn't sleep. Dd goes to bed fine only to wake a million times. A LOT of her fussing seems to be when she has done a bit of wee. We tried lifting her and for a week or so it worked really well, we either caught the wee or were a bit late so changed her and she slept much better thanusual until morning. Sometimes she was thn dry in the morning so theoretically based on that we could put her to bed with no nappy and lift her couldn't we?

Now though it has gone to pot, lifting doesn't work, she has often already been but if we try lifting her earlier she refuses point blank to sit on the potty. She is waking half a million times a night and tugging at her nappy, sticking her hand down it and generally complaining. She is going to cost me a fortune as she ends up using 3 nappies a night and I've had to go over to paper nappies as she seems to manage to pull at cloth so much it leaks (and we have now tried about 5 different cloth combinations).

Do people chance it? Do you just go for it and try sticking her in bed with no nappy? Obviously I would layer the bed up with lots of sheets to make it easy to strip at night. I might get some of those bed wetter mats so just throw away.

Dare I?

I suppose if she wees 5 times in the night it can't be worse than getting up 5-10 times to resettle can it?

She is 2.3 by the way and I have never down night time before as my 4 year old still wees for England at night but she doesn't actually wee that much and in the morning does a nice, dark coloured wee which I believe points to all the right hormone production for being dry Confused

Not really sure what to say, but I can't bear to leave you lonely!

At least this is a good time of year to be going at it, you won't have to worry about so many dry pyjamas soon, she won't get too cold. The mats also save hassle I guess, but could work out quite costly.

I would risk it without a nappy for a week or so and see if it starts to work. And if not, just put them back on and try again later. She is still quite young for completely dry nights.

But sorry, it's all just my questionable opinion, I'm no great expert. Good luck!

Thanks

I was planning on trying it for just 3 nights or so to see what happened, we'll see.

hmmmm. Ds1 is 5 and a bit and is still in pyjama pants. We are now bribing him with a Nintendo DS............ 9 dry nights out of 11. Not bad. But I fully expect DS2 who is 1 to be dry night and day before DS1.
