DS potty trained(ish) but not willing to use it

Basically DS is 2.10 and can use the potty for wees (and poos on a good day). Since Xmas he has been pretty good. Now he refuses to wear pants (even with bribery). Not sure what to do.

We have resuables that we could use at night and maybe get rid of the other nappies during the day so he has no choice and has to wear pants.

I don't want to make a big deal of it but as he is perfectly capable of using the potty I (and my mum who looks after him too) am getting frustrated with this recent turn.

Help what is the best way forward as I feel like we are going backwards at the moment.

Would he prefer the toilet? My DD was very quick to be dry, but absolutely refused to use a potty. Toilet or nothing for her.

Have tried toilet but he seems attached to his nappies in particular the pull ups. Good idea though.

This will probably sound barking, but does her really like the characters on his pull ups?
DD stopped using hers when I pointed out she was peeing or pooing on whichever cartoon person was on the front or back of them.

Haha like your thinking. He does like the hippo on them but we have dinosaur and Thomas pants so that might not work for us. Up to a couple of weeks ago he was dry at home now its all gone to pot.

We had exactly the same thing with DS at the same age. He did well and was dry within a few days, but would rarely poo on the potty and ended up getting constipated.

We gave up, stuck him back in pull-ups for a couple of months, and tackled it at the beginning of Feb. Was all sorted within a week.

If you want to just get on an do it now, then I would just take the pull-ups away so they're no longer an option. pants or nothing :)

We're using lactulose too so he doesn't get constipated again (on GP advice) and bribe to get him to use the potty or toilet.

Bribery seems to have lost its appeal Sad. I am gutted.

There must be something that he wants? With DS it was Ben 10 toys Hmm

[Pops thinking hat on with potential bribes]

He remembered we used to give him mince pies the other day. Maybe they would work. I wonder if anyone sells them at this time of year / else if I made some they would work as well Grin
