Is he ready?

My son (3&1/2) and I have been at potty training for about two weeks now. I take him about every 45 minutes. He goes happily enough almost every time, but also goes in between and the frequent trips to the toilet and changes of clothes are doing my head in, and no real progress has been made. I know potty training isn't easy, but could he just not be ready?

The whole situation is making me quite irritable and not very pleasant to be around, both from his perspective and that of other people (including hubby). This just isn't the kind of mum I want to be.

i dont know how to answer this because he has only been potty training for 2 weeks....

My understanding from most of the things I have read is that if they are ready they progress quickly.

all children are differnet though, at least he has no fear of the potty which most kids experience.... it sounds like u are putting yourself down saying its not the mum you wanted to be..... its just all part and parcel... who cares what other people think,

I just don't feel I have the patience to deal with the situation if I feel like giving up after only two weeks. I know things could potentially be much worse, but somehow that doesn't make me feel better...

i know hun, sometimes u just feel how much longer can it carry on and to be fair there is only so much of the smell of poo we can take.... and i understand how stressful it must be with the constant changing of clothes but 2 weeks really isnt a long time at all. the way i did it was i stayed in for a whole week and made my son walk around house with no pants or underpants on and watched his every move, when i felt he looked like he was going to poo/wee i would put him staright on potty and praise him so much for him even got stickers from pound shop and gave him one every time he did his business after the week he did it himself and even gave himself a sticker but thats only just my opinion
