Potty training

Is your child ready for potty training at nursery? Here's the place for all your toilet training questions.

Bleurgh. Remind me WHY exactly I can't leave a child in nappies till mid-teens.

Really should be potty training DS4 (that's right, 4 - I must be some of idiot).

How legitimate would it be to let the other children do it? I've done my time with them, surely they should be able to pass on their wisdom?

Or shall I just wait two years until he starts school? They learn tonnes of stuff there, I'm sure he'll catch on....

Yeah let his teachers do it! I've been wondering if I can hire someone to come in and teach my ds 2.9 years to use the toilet then give him back to me when it's done!! At what age did you train your other children?

Tried on and off between the ages of 2 and 3, then went for it properly when they turned 3. It took DS1 till his fourth birthday to sit on the loo voluntarily, before that we just had to put him on it until he did something.

Hands down, worst stage of parenting.

Yep agree there!! This has to be the hardest stage for me. I find it all so stressful!

estar, you are not some kind of idiot. Some children have problems learning to walk, some children have problems learning to speak. If your child is struggling to achieve day continence then its reasonable to seek professional help.

Have you spoken to your GP or health visitor?
