Struggling with periods after tube removal 9 month postpartum

Hi all!

9 months postpartum with my 4th child.
i had my 4th c-section and during which I requested for my tubes to be tied as I don’t do well with contraception and hormones..
after my c-section my consultant came to me and said she had actually removed my tubes instead of tying them and left my ovaries and everything else alone..

im also 9 months into exclusively breastfeeding.
at my six month mark my periods returned and each one is getting heavier..
this one I have just finished was the heaviest I’ve known in my life and came through pass and clothing..
it has really knocked me in the sense of I feel incredibly tired, headaches & feeling really cold.
the tiredness I’m struggling with as by 11am I feel as though I need a nap and have no energy left for the day.

just came on here to see if anyone else has had this from tube removal and whether anyone thinks a doctors visit would be an idea

Sorry but I think its insane she removed your tubes without consent?
Also I know this is your 4th, and I dont know about your previous experiences but I have experienced periods coming through maternity pads after my 2nd pregnancy (not carried to term) even months after the fact - theyre not settled... maybe seek out medical advice if you feel something isn't right though xx

I’d go to the GP as you’re struggling Flowers

I did sign the consent form for my tubes to be tied.. she never gave a reason as to why she decided to remove them instead
I mean I’m not sure how I feel about it but I do know I quite often think about it and how I felt “health scared” into it by a different consultant anyway.

after all my other pregnancies my periods all went back to how they originally were so I was thinking this time it’s maybe because my tubes were removed, I’m not quite sure.

im just really wanting to stay clear from any contraception and I feel like the gps throw that at us to solve anything period related sometimes.

did you take anything for them to settle or did you just ride it out?

I would really ask some questions if I was you?

In terms of periods, ask to see a female GP and ask about Tranexamic Acid (reduces bleeding) and Medenamic Acid (reduces bleeding and cramps). I personally cant take anything hormonal to reduce my period but both of these helped make the bleeding manageable xx
