I am on the 5th day postpartum. Had a vaginal birth with epidural and therefore had the catheter put in. I am still bleeding from urethra, is that normal or potentially a UTI??

Oh, bless you.
Phone the hospital ward rather than waiting for an answer on here.

Yes get checked out, that isn’t what you want Flowers

I'm a retired midwife @SameIssue

It is not unusual to bleed a little from the urethra after you've had a catheter in.

Are you in pain when you pass urine?
Is the midwife still visiting you? You can mention it to her.

Thanks for responding, was kind of hoping some professional or someone who has experienced this would reach out.

The midwife was supposed to be visiting but in the end, only the community support worker came for the baby.

I had mentioned this at the time of discharge from the hospital but that was only 14 hours since labour and 4 hours since catheter removal so the response was that it’s somewhat normal.

It doesnt burn per se when I pee but the persistent feeling throughout the day is as if someone just kicked me in the peeing area.

I would have called the hospital maternity unit to get an answer but they would likely ask me to come in and then I would have to find childcare for my toddler.
