DTD after episiotomy

Bit TMI…

When did you feel comfortable to DTD after episiotomy and 2nd degree tear?
I had my baby 8 and half weeks ago and I still feel no where near ready.
I thought I felt ok but then yesterday me and my partner were having some alone time and he put one finger in and it hurt on my scar like a rubbing pain not hugely but it’s made me scared for anything bigger in there he also said it feels really tight.

Another question as well but is excessive CM normal after childbirth? It’s like watery stringy every time I wipe and in my pants.

For me it was about 5 months, but it varies widely. Please, please don’t do anything you don’t feel ready for. It’s a big trauma to your body, it does take time.

I had a really hard time getting back into it after my first when I had an episiotomy. In the end it was about 9 months, I physically could have done it before but it became a mental thing with me. After my second that was a c section I had no issues of course and it was about 4-6 weeks after. Make sure you are really relaxed and use plenty of lube! Do it when you feel ready ☺️ x

I think it was about 6 months. But I had complications and had to wait about that long to see a consultant. I definitely had a lot of knotty scar tissue at 6 mo. It feels much better now at 10 months pp.

Not sure about the discharge, but lochia can go on for ages iirc? I'd get it checked out if you have any pelvic pain.

My surgeon told me the tight feeling on the opening is something a lot of women mention and she recommended using a sex toy to slowly and gently get used to something going in before having a go at a shag. It took a long time for my scar to heal - it was red and raised but eventually faded to a thin flat silver line. I had DS two and a half years later, 9 pound 4, no tear so it's amazing how well it all heals, but just give it time. The first shag is always awkward AF, so as long as neither of you expects too much, you have some lube and go gently you'll be fine. Get him to treat you to a hand job after all your hard work until you are ready :)

7 months and it was a very gentle process ! Don’t rush into it until completely ready

Are you BF? As the hormones make your CM wild, mines still much higher volume and clear/stringy at nearly 14m PP!!
