Hi all, looking for some ideas/advice. I’m a solo mum and due to have my second by C-section in March. My first has a nanny 9am to 6pm weekdays and I’ll have to get a night nanny for the first few weeks to help me as I recover. But they seem to do 12 hour shifts and that leaves 6am to 9am with no one to help my toddler. She sleeps in a cot and I won’t be able to get her out myself for 4-6 weeks after C-section. What sort of help do you think I could get 6am to 9am? My pregnant brain is too fried to figure out the logistics creatively. Thanks for any ideas!

Move the toddler into a toddler bed before the new baby comes.

You're overthinking this. Tbh you have much more childcare in place than most people and you'll be absolutely fine.

As someone said, toddler in toddler bed, but also, realistically you are going to picking up your toddler before 4-6 weeks because everyone does when it's their second, even with a partner on the scene. If we discount carrying, I was happily pottering around making breakfast for the toddler with baby in a sling on me, by day 3.

Carrying was the only restriction really, and because I knew I was having a section (and had horrific SPD) she was used to not being carried much for a while before. Saying that, I was carrying her whilst stationary by about a week.

It'll be fine.

@Babyboomtastic ah ok, so you were fine to be able to lift your toddler in and out their cot? Thats great, I hope I recover that well!
