Prolonged bleeding - Desperate to hear from others

Hi all - I'd just like to preface this by saying that I HAVE contacted the doctors, actually I've been there many many times, I've had referrals to gynae etc and I'm waiting to see an endocrinologist.

I'm now nearly 8 months post partum and can only describe what I'm going through as utter misery. My periods came back at 3 months pp - I am not breast feeding.
They are long and very heavy. The last three have been 33 days, 33 days and 40 days. The latest one only stopped because of norethisterone. They are SO heavy - I'm changing a pad every hour, up through the night, losing large clots multiple times a day, unable to go far from home etc. Luckily I'm in no pain with them, but the bleeding is ruining my life.

The GP won't prescribe me the combined pill due to migraines with aura, but they have tried tranexamic acid which has not worked.
I've had a pelvis US which didn't show anything significant and my cervix looked clear - nothing stuck and no retained placenta. Basically, the doctors think I'm stuck in the 'baby blues' period and have very low estrogen which will eventually sort itself out.

Has this happened to anyone else?? I feel like I'm the only one and it's making me seriously miserable. I'm really hating my life right now and feeling so guilty for that thought, because I have a gorgeous baby girl that I want to just enjoy, but I fear this is taking over and I'm at my witts end. Please don't tell me to see a doctor - I've done all this. I'm just desperate to hear that it will improve.

Have they checked your thyroid?
Postpartum thyroiditis could cause heavy periods.
So sorry you are suffering Flowers

They have yes - all normal. I actually hoped it wouldn't be, so that there'd be reason to this.

Can you have the coil fitted?

I could do - but I'd like another baby fairly soon so it seems a bit counterintuitive. I also think it's just masking a problem that needs to be sorted.
