C Section Recovery Plan Recommendations

Hi there, I had a planned C-section and am 5 weeks post partum. I'm starting to think of introducing exercises soon once I'm all cleared.

I'm looking for recommendations on a postpartum certified trainer and physiotherapist in South London, preferably in or around Twickenham.

Additionally, any recommendations on silicone sheets?

Welcome any other recovery tips. Thanks!

I think of you want recommendations for a specific area, you might need to ask @MNHQto amend the title to include the area. Tou might get done replies then Smile

Five weeks post c section is a sensible point to start thinking ahead, as long as you’re cleared before introducing anything new.

I don’t have a specific physio or trainer to recommend in South London, but when I was looking, what mattered most was finding someone who genuinely specialised in postnatal and c section recovery rather than general fitness. A women’s health physio who looks at scar mobility, deep core and pelvic floor function together made a big difference for me.

In terms of trainers, I’d personally look for someone who works closely with physios or has postnatal rehab experience, rather than jumping straight into ‘getting back to exercise’.

For silicone sheets, I was advised that consistency matters more than brand – using them regularly once the incision is fully healed, alongside gentle scar work, seemed to be the key.

If you struggle to find local support quickly, I found having a simple, postnatal-specific plan to follow at home helpful as a short-term bridge, this is the one i used: https://wild-mama.co.uk/
