I just wondered if anyone had any help or suggestions. I had a baby in December 2024 and I was sterilised at the same time. After this my periods were heavy but they have slowed down now but 1 or 2 weeks befofe my period my mood drops, I lose my appetite my heart beats fast o feel irritable and I've been like this for 5/6 months. I just want to feel normal again and not keep up this dramatic mood drop. It does pass after a few weeks and then I start eating but eating quite a lot.
Too add I have no sex drive when this happens to my relationship is not great either plus with my mood swings.
I have three children to look after and I hate them looking at me asking why I am upset at this time.

I went to the GP and he has given me setraline. I have been on this a while ago and my husband is saying not to take it as he thinks it made me worse before. My he also saying that its normal to feel like this. Don't no what to do

Do you think you might be better in a different SSRI?

I can’t take Prozac but I’m ok on Sertraline when I’ve had that. DH is on long term SSRIs and finds Citalopram suits him best.

Hpw do you think you were last time you were i. Sertraline?

To be honest at that time everything seems a blur and I can't remember much i was going through a lot of personal things. I dont no whether to give it a go even though it can take a while to kick in and may get worse before it gets better. Sometimes I just think I am a idiot and that I dont need tablets or help

Sertraline is known to suppress libido, is your DH worried about that?

What dod the GP say about your heart rate?

Colourfulltrees · 29/07/2025 22:01

Yes probably .. cos it not great now so prob be even worse when I tske the sertraline.

Gp didnt say anything about my heart rate
