Please may anyone advise me on anything that worked for their postpartum hair loss?

Thank you :)

I sympathise. Mine fell out in handfuls. I was advised that it is worse in the months June July August and September and then the hair thickens up again. No idea why but it was true.

Take a multivitamin and give it time. Everyone gets it, some more noticeably than others depending on how thick your hair was before, but it does grow back. The worst for me was the flyaway baby hair stage!

My hairdresser told me there's very little that can be done other than keeping up with your vitamins. He took a big chunk off the bottom of mine to reduce stress on the roots, but it was just a process really of waiting for it to stop. The saddest part for me was that all my new hair grew back grey 😫😫 So I had loads of wispy grey flyaways at the front for ages. Its looking much better now DD is around 15months with a really good amount of regrowth.

My sympathies OP it’s horrible when it’s bad. My hair was so long & thick so I got a huge amount cut off and it properly changed my life/made it feel less overwhelming the volume that was coming out. I used uk lash hair growth serum which felt like it helped. 8 months pp now and have so much re growth, it does eventually stop!

I went through this too and I know how scary it feels when the shedding really starts. Around three to four months postpartum, I was losing so much hair and thought something was wrong with me.

What helped me most was being gentle with my hair and supporting my body from the inside. I focused on eating more protein, drinking more water, and staying consistent with Baby Blues Hair Loss Vitamins. After a couple of months, my shedding slowly eased and I started seeing little baby hairs coming back.

I also avoided tight styles and rough brushing during that phase, which made a difference.

It takes time, but for most of us it does get better. You are not alone in this and you are not doing anything wrong. Be patient with yourself and your body.

It grows back. During pregnancy you don’t lose hair, post partum loss is just all the hair that you would have naturally lost during pregnancy falling out all at once.

When it starts to grow again it looks a bit weird, a bit like you’ve got a buzz cut growing through your remaining hair. It’s more noticeable with long hair. If you have a short style it’s not as obvious.

I’ve had a similar problem after taking hormone blockers for breast cancer. I didn’t need chemo so thought I’d got away with the associated hair loss. It is, apparently, due to the sudden drop in hormone levels. For about 3 months it was coming out in handfuls but did recover well. I’ve always had really thick but fine dark blond hair which without a lot of time and effort always looked bed head. Now it’s slightly less thick it’s much easier to style and maintain.
