3 days PP. 1 clot - do I need to call?

I had my 2nd daughter on Saturday as a water birth. All fine and no concerns, bleeding already more dischargey and no longer fresh red. Today however I passed a clot and can’t tell if it’s big enough to call, or just slightly small enough to be normal?

sorry for the pic but any opinions would be great!

For reference I started pumping yesterday and have pumped 3/4 times so far in 24 hours (otherwise not breastfeeding) and have also been having after pains which I didn’t get the first time!

I would call ASAP to be on the safe side! I think the guidance is clots 50p size or bigger and I’d say yours is around that size. Hope all is ok 💐

How you’ve managed to speak to someone Flowers

Thanks both! I called and they said it was fine, no need to go in unless accompanied with heavy bleeding or new pain (neither of which I have).

they also said due to me expressing via pump it will be aiding in the uterus shrinking and therefore could cause some clots due to quicker retraction 🤷‍♀️

I passed a clot the size of a golf ball on about day 3. Bleeding diminished after that and I generally felt a bit better. Stronger after pains are normal with second and subsequent pregnancies - I think your body gets more efficient with each pregnancy! As long as you feel OK, it’s probably fine. If you feel feverish or bleeding increases, get yourself checked out. Congrats on your new baby!
