My 2nd c section was a bliss; baby went to NICU by fifth day and from all the stress I got up and run around like I never had a surgery

I drove much much earlier than week 6 (you need to notify insurance ), and lost all the baby weight within a month 😂

at the end it was all super fine, due to having both kids I was more energetic, up for it and organised

you ll smash it don’t worry !

It’s not about notifying the insurance as such
its about ensuring doctor has OKed it

in case if an accident, car insurance will ask (if they’re aware)

I drove after 2 weeks when I had CS no 4. GP said if I could do an emergency stop then he was happy for me to drive. My husband was self employed so couldn’t take time off.
Prep needs for your freezer for tough days. Don’t be afraid to have takeaways if needed.
rest when baby rests, let older one play whilst you hide under a duvet on the sofa!
Accept help if offered x

You don’t need to wait 6 weeks, it’s whenever you’re physically fit enough to drive and notifying insurance is a complete myth too https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-12404983/Are-new-mothers-uninsured-drive-Caesarean-section.html

Yeah it’s also more around risk. Absolutely you can drive it’s just with the major abdominal surgery and weakness of the area if you get in an accident and your steering wheel goes into you your wound can reopen and you are vulnerable. Minimum time to heal is the 6 weeks….

OP it will be fine. I had a similar gap and it was pretty good. Some great advice was to make a healthy snack box and let your older one help themselves to a snack if they have asked so they can start to have more independence.

Because they are cutting through scar tissue the pain is less.

Good luck.

I've had 2 CS. You can drive when you are able to comfortably to an emergency stop. Sit in you car with the engine off and try, see how it goes.

I drove 4 weeks after the first CS and 9 weeks after the second.

I needed a lot of support when my second was born. I had DH or DM or PiL on hand for a month. Fortunately I could walk DS to nursery.
