C-section recovery: alternatives to Naydaya?

Hello!
I recently had an ELCS and am looking to start scar massage from 6 weeks.
My FYP has bombarded me with Naydaya balm throughout my pregnancy. It looks great but, whew!...that price point 🙄
Has anyone had any luck with other scar balms/creams/oils? I've personally used Bio Oil, Palmers and Kelo Cote for other scars in the past and have been underwhelmed, but I'm sure there must be some effective (and cheaper!) dupes out there.

I just used Palmers and my scar is barely visible. Any massage and emollient will be fine as that's all it needs.
However, I have no idea what Naydaya is or what it claims to do.

Ah amazing! That's really encouraging. Ugh Naydaya is just this cult c-section recovery balm that has some extremely good PR as everyone raves about it 😅 but it's about £30 for a tiny tub and I am far too tight for that.

I have just had my last section so going to throw all I can at this one.

Have researched what the plastics departments do.

Silicone seems to be the way. Specifically mepiform for early treatment and then standard silicone tape or gels.

Apparently massage is most effective without creams as you can get deeper/ more grip. You are trying to actually break the scar tissue. Not glide over it.

So my plan is Mepiform for 2-3 months. Then Mepitac standard silicone tape. No scar creams

I love this! Follow the pros ✨️ I had a 2nd degree burn on my leg treated with mepiform last year and it was absolutely incredible, it is barely there now. I never even thought about it for c-sec scar. Ty again! Good luck with yours x

Oh that’s great to know! I have been struggling to find others who have used it online. But it is apparently what is used most by plastic surgeons, burns as you say and weirdly the only thing I can find online of progress pics is FTM trans top surgeries.

I am assuming you had it on prescription before. It’s very spendy. I was quoted £125 for 5 patches from the pharmacy 😭

I did buy one pack from there so I had a comparison product and then sourced from eBay. There’s some real bargains on there. Just got 10 sheets for £40 which are 18 x 9 cm so going to cut in half and that brings it down to £2 a patch.

If you don’t mind me asking how did you wear yours? Some plastics say leave on permanent for 3-7 days as showerproof. Others say take off for an hour a day to massage, clean and air. Others say take off for 12 hours of sleep. It’s very confusing!

I just massaged without cream as per the French Consultant in NICU who lectured me on the topic over the NICU coffee machine. I've had 2 emergency sections, my first they cut me hip to hip as I was fully dilated and ds was very stuck. My scar is virtually invisible, just a tiny delicate line that you need to actively look for.
