Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone experienced anything similar.
I have a nearly 4 week old. He hadn't reached his birth weight by 2 weeks old and so were advised to start topping up with small amounts of formula (I have supply issues due to previous breast reduction and supplemented my DC1).
We ended up being admitted to hospital due to him projectile vomiting up his feeds and concerns with his weight - seemed to be resolved by changing bottle teats.
However I'm now at a bit of a loss as he is still seeming hungry after feeds so have tried to increase by 30mls (so 90mls in total) - and he is now projectile vomiting again.
The formula tin suggests he should now be on 120mls at 4 weeks old - he is only tolerating half of this and is being fed every 3 hrs.
He's due to be weighed again tomorrow and he's definitely not back at birth weight and I know the health visitor is going to panic again and not offer much advice.
Wondered if anyone has been through anything similar? I just want someone to tell me if it's ok for him to have smaller amounts as long as he's putting on weight...albeit slowly. Whether it's just reflux , or whether there may be something else going on with his stomach/oesophagus etc.
Will obviously be seeking advice from midwives too but interested in anecdotal experiences!
Thanks!
