Low cervix ? Prolapse

Hello
I am 4 weeks postpartum with baby # 5
I can feel my cervix 1-2cm up , awful heavy feeling.I Also have prolapsed anterior and posterior wall - diagnosed in pregnancy.
now I am terrified I have prolapsed uterus too 🥴
can it be normal for the cervix to sit low still ? Any hope for recovery? I’m so worried how I’ll be able to function properly and look after my 5 kids.
booked to see physio at 6 weeks postpartum
thanks !

I'm 6 weeks postpartum and can't give you any answers but hope your physio appointment went well. Please update if you can x

It’s really common, your physio will go through things with you and work out what degree of prolapse there is. Your pregnancy/breastfeeding hormones will still be causing all the tissues to be really relaxed, and as the uterus shrinks down after pregnancy it can feel worse (I remember feeling like my insides were falling out at about 8 weeks after birth, it got way better down the track). It is likely to get much better with time and with pelvic floor exercises. For some it doesn’t fully recover though and then you might end up needing to look at extra treatments in the future (pessary or an operation). All the best.

Thanks ladies
I saw the physio and she didn’t seem too concerned at all, still early days. Said my cervix was actually sitting in a normal position.
Going to get a pessery next appointment. Aparently there is research to show it can help with recovery if the area is splinted, just like if you have a sprained tissue I guess. Im now 8 weeks and already feeling much better , so hoping things will keep improving.
