Pelvic pain

Hi guys, just looking to get some advice, I gave birth around 5 months now. Had quite a hard pregnancy towards the end suffered with lots of pelvic floor pain. However I’m still suffering with the same pain, I still get that horrible pain/heaviness when walking about and sometimes shooting pains in the vagina still, it’s not as bed but it’s still here. Did anyone else experience this after giving birth? Just getting me down now I just want to feel like myself again 😞

Yes, 6 months post partum and still suffering. I had lots of physio before giving birth and again in the last few months. Didn't make a difference. The relaxin hormone which makes your pelvis unstable and cause pelvic girdle pain only wears off completely after 12 months apparently.

You and I are in a very small minority to still suffer so much at this point though. Nothing I've done has helped so just replying out of solidarity.

Same boat here, DS just turned 5 months on the 15th and my pelvis is murder.
Can't roll over in bed without clicking still and physio where I am is very poor, got seen once and given exercises to do at home, but they don't work and no help aside from that!

It's utterly poo, especially with so much weight that I'm desperate to shift!!

It’s worth seeking medical advice.

While it’s not uncommon there may be things that you can do that can help. Or help prevent deterioration

@SpicyMoth hi! I feel your pain it’s utterly miserable isn’t it! I wake up in the mornings still having that heaviness down below . I’m 6 months now! I thought it only takes 3 months to feel better again 😫

No advice, just solidarity. I'm 8 months PP now. Just out of curiosity are you breastfeeding? I'm in the process of weaning onto bottles, I'm hoping that once my hormones have settled things will get better 🤞🏻

@herecomesthefiretruck hi, no I’ve always bottle fed mine. Are you having a tough time also? X

Yes, the only way I can explain it is my pelvis and lower back feel 'unstable'. I only had pelvic pain toward the end of my pregnancy and then it's suddenly reappeared around 6 months PP🤦🏻‍♀️. When I saw the physio during pregnancy they just signposted me to some exercises that didn't really help.

I've been trying to fit in some slow walks on my treadmill but my pelvis feels awful once I hit the 3 mile mark 🤷🏻‍♀️x

I'm exclusively breastfeeding on demand, are you able to move around much at all?

I'm finding it impossible as my wee man is SO on the boob ahah, I bit the bullet and bought myself a gym membership though, and I have to say - 20 mins on an exercise bike today and my pelvis hasn't been nearly as painful afterwards.

I forget what the machine's called, but the one where you sit with your feet up against a board and push yourself back and forward as well, that one made me ache in the exact place I have PGP pain, but in a good way if that makes sense?
I didn't go on it long, maybe 20 seconds max because I wasn't sure if I'd do damage and it was just a induction to get familiar with machines etc, but I'm now scheduled to see someone at my gym who has a lot of experience with postpartum women so hopefully she'll have some recommendations, I'll report back here with what she said and how it went if so!

(And TOTALLY with you re; the physio exercises that do sweet eff all!)
