Baby feeding

I'm using Milupa. Just because it's cheaper than aptamil. But also seems to be a well known brand focused on healthy ingredients?

The problem is my son born 11 days early 8.2 pounds I'm struggling to feed him half an ounce. And even then he's sicking up some when I burp him.
I'm even waiting 4 hours but it's still difficult to give him an ounce.

Despite feeding so little. On multiple occasions I've got to struggle to wake him to feed. And he keeps falling back asleep while being fed.
He really doesn't seem bothered

Like I said it's Milupa number one. Slow flow teats. Silicone made to emulated a mum's nipples.

I've tried other teats, doesn't seem to make any difference.

He was born Friday. And I haven't been able to call a pediatrician over the weekend. I'm going to ask her on Monday obviously. But if anyone has some advice I'm listening.

We had to strip baby down at night sometimes to give her her bottle, because she kept falling asleep. I was also told before to reduce the use of a soother / dummy prior to a feed because sucking one can tire their muscles out that they need to suck from a bottle (noooo idea how true that is!).

Have you tried different feeding positions?

I do know of one friend who's baby was really sleepy for the first week and fed very little. Hes a perfectly healthy 2 year old now!

My baby was the same.. even when she was 2 - 3 months old she would struggle to get 1/2 ounces down at a time. The HVs had no idea why she would do this, thought maybe she just didn't like milk or was teething (she wasn't).

I breastfed for the first 2 months and she'd only ever drink for 4/5 mins at a time too.

I used to get so stressed about it because she'd also be unsettled for most of the day. Very colicky too.

She's now nearly 6 months old and can drink 5 oz at a time so it did get better over time! Though she never wants to sit in my lap and drink, always lying down!

Forgot to mention- I tried ALL the teats and bottles and nothing worked. I stuck with the mam bottles even though she didn't drink loads from them when she was very little and she's fine with them now.

Is your baby producing enough wet/ dirty nappies ? Even though DD didn't drink much she'd have a good amount of wet and dirty nappies which suggests she was still getting enough milk even if I thought she wasn't.

Hi..

When you say feeding positions, what do you mean exactly. Like lying him down? Because usually I'm holding him..
I'll try lying him down I'll also try not giving him a dummy.

BTW. He sleeps LOADS. In fact I'm concerned he might have hearing problems as absolutely nothing disturbs his sleep. Is that also normal? I know it's going off topic I've just never known ab adult or child who can also through music without flinching like he does. (I experimented because i was concerned)
I've also clapped sharply near him. There's no apparent reaction.
I guess he should be able to hear fine..
Is it possible he's just a very deep sleeper?
Because when he's awake im starting to think its what he sees in his peripheral vision which gets his attention... not because he can hear it.

He poops a couple of times a day same with wee too I think. Is that normal?
