Headaches post partum

Hi,
im looking for some reassurance. Ive been having constant on and off frontal headaches since 7 days post partum. I am now 10 days and it is driving me crazy. I was checked over twice by drs and midwives and everything is normal. No eclampsia, no low iron. They said its lack of sleep. I did get around 6 hours just broken as I need to wake baby to feed her.

my mum came over and took care of her last night and I had a full 8-9 hours of sleep. I feel rested but my dull headache is still here.
what could this be? Hormones dropping?
did anyone else experience this? If so how long did it last for?

Did you have a c section? That can be a side effect but presumably that has been ruled out.

I always get a headache when I'm tired. Are you taking pain killers and staying really hydrated?

I had a vaginal delivery. No complications. I did have an epidural.
yeah I am hydrated I drink a lot of water.
the thing is I dont feel tired and surely after tonight sleeping such a long stretch my headache would be gone?

If you had an epidural then it may be spinal headaches as a result of that, they do resolve themselves within a couple weeks usually I was told as I had the same and within 3/4 weeks they were gone x

Epidurals can cause headaches, they can take a few weeks to clear. I would talk to midwife/GP again because it might need treating

Are you breastfeeding? I had this for months with my second and still sporadically get them, it’s all to do with the positions when breastfeeding and the change in hormones for me

I developed migraines during pregnancy with my second, and had ongoing issues with headaches and migraines on and off for a couple years afterwards (it’s mellowed now) definitely hormone levels and also physiological stress (think tense shoulders, upper back strain etc from lack of sleep and carrying a baby around) can really impact things.

lots of water, avoiding high sugar food, yoga/stretches and generally going gentle on myself all helped me

I was told continued headaches after an epidural could be treated with another epidural, I remember being told that in theatre and hoping like mad I didn't end up with that. I would contact your GP again.
