before I was pregnant I was 8.5 stone once pregnant dropped to 7.5. now breastfeeding and 11 months postpartum I only weigh 7 stone and it’s really getting me down I look really unhealthy but really struggling to gain the weight. Has anyone else had this issue while breastfeeding? Will the weight gain once I stop

I have to work to maintain my weight. Similar age LO, currently 7.5st. With my first I went down to 7st which is far too low for me.

Extra portions, snacking and a chocolate bar in the evenings are my go to.
Make sure you get your meals. I used to be bad for feeding baby then getting them out of their highchair and playing. I now leave DC2 to it, eat my meal and then help the kids. I push back on DH more too.
Try not to wear yourself out. Between housework, carrying baby and pushing a buggy you will use a chunk of energy. Allow yourself rest too.

You will get weight back. With DC1 I did after I went back to work (and could eat/snack undisturbed!!) and they increased solids. I kept feeding too; you don't necessarily have to give it up to regain.

Hi op
try adding extra high calorie but nutritious foods to your meals. For example if you eat toast, add peanut butter. Add avocado to salads etc. you won’t feel like you’re having to eat loads of food but will still be upping your calories.

@MissImpatient2019 yes me! DS was very active and fed a lot.

Upping protein really helped. Like a PP suggested, peanut butter is good.

Also swap to full fat everything, milk, butter, cheese, mayo.

I had similar op and I think the stress of new motherhood really affected me. That's just my body's natural reaction to testing times. Are you enjoying breastfeeding/ motherhood?

Once I found my feet with the baby I put on about a stone.

Fast forward 6 years and we got a dog and the first 5 days we had him I lost 5 pounds!! Just the way im wired.
