Hi so I gave birth 16th of April, I am breastfeeding but give one bottle at night or if I feel like baby is still hungry I give a bottle on the odd occasion.

i got what I thought was a period 11th of June then another period 30th of June.

I have not had any periods since this now and i have done multiple pregnancy tests and all a solid negative.

could those times still be postpartum bleeding? And not what I thought was my period

would really appreciate some advice please
i also have my coil fitted tomorrow

I might have misread this but when I had my dd I didn't have a period for a whole year whilst breastfeeding I still breastfeed her now and my periods are irregular it's normal apparently x if that's not what you meant please ignore me 🤣

Hi there. No, this isn't postpartum bleeding.

It'll be two periods, close together. When you're breastfeeding your cycle can be very irregular.

I didn't get a regular cycle until each baby was over a year old.

Are you using contraception or don't you mind getting pregnant again?

I just thought as I don’t exclusively breastfeed then it would be different regarding periods and it would return to normal tbh

yes using protection just condoms but we have had a couple times unprotected but all pregnancy tests came back negative..

whats the longest time you had between periods when they was being irregular?

With my first I didn’t have one till after a year also! But I’m just thinking would that be the case if I’m not exclusively breastfeeding as ds is having a bottle every night of formula since he was born! So would the same apply I’m not sure..
I’ve never combo-fed before so new to it all

Eight weeks or so, I think.

It wasn't till DD got to 20 months old that they became regular, and I could get pregnant again. Which I did lol.

It's the feeds in the early hours that affect your fertility the most. Once good old Mother Nature realised that you get a good block of sleep between midnight and 6 am she usually starts giving you a regular AF.

This article from Kellymom describes BFing and returning to fertility quite well Wink

Does this apply to combo-feeding also? I give the one bottle around 8pm then he feeds through the night still

Aha. Feeding overnight is when your body makes the most prolactin, which inhibits ovulation.
