Mammas boy

I live with my in laws and I have a 28 month old girl and a 16 month old boy. I have post natal depression and my daughter has been a daddy’s girl from the get go as he helped out a lot with her and she basically loves her dad, grandma and grandad. They’d just give her the iPad and let her sit with them and she would refuse to come with me. I tried so hard to build a bond but failed however recently she’s gotten close to me and has started saying she wants mama. But she’s still a daddy’s girl

My son however was an extreme mummy’s boy. He refused to go to anyone and everyone and was glued to my hip up until he was 15 months. He would cry with everyone and would not get of me. He would follow me around and everything. Whenever he’d say mamma they would counter it with daddy so now he’s started saying daddy: they would say he’s a mummy’s boy and all that but now that he’s walking he started to explore and wants to run around. He’s started to go with his dad a little bit not much but has started to go to him. And other members but refuses to be picked up by yhem. He only sleeps with me and he shouts mamma whenever I leave. They’ve started acting like he’s not a mamma’s boy anymore and I feel rejected again.

Is it true that they stop? What’s everyone’s experience been like

Both of your children should feel safe with and loved by both their parents. It sounds like you're well on the way to achieving this! Well done, carry on, don't let the paranoia/anxiety take hold.
