I am 1 year pp and still struggling to put my body back together. Still have pelvic pain and knee pain, have seen several physios privately but nothing has ever been fully resolved. It’s really effecting my mental health as stopping me get out and about as much as i would like and get back involved with my hobbies, which I still can’t do, such as Parkrun and climbing club. I find myself crying a lot and I don’t think I am being a very present wife. Anyone else? I really thought I’d be feeling more myself by now

So sorry to hear you are feeling this 😞but I am 15 months pp and feel the same.y joints ache and due to co sleeping as DS still feeds during every night (I am breastfeeding still) my neck and back on the side I lay on are aching constantly. I was really into hiit and weight training before and exercised up to 38 weeks pregnant, but I feel so old and unfit now.

I really thought I’d feel myself too but it’s a constant cycle of being tired, eating rubbish and then being too tired and achey to exercise, even though I’m sure exercise might actually make me feel physically and mentally better. It’s really hard and you definitely aren’t alone

I'm almost 2yrs PP and sorry to say it took around month 18 to feel like me again
I had a hard pregnancy, traumatic birth and placenta returned which wasn't detected for
8 wks after
I was on AD ( still am ) had dizziness aches
And honestly felt like it has broken me
I can honestly say I feel on top
Of the world now - it just took its time for me to feel better
Everyone I knew in real life seemed to walk through so easily! I still feel I struggle some days but I've learnt to prioritise and say no
When I don't want to do anyone
Something I never used to do
I feel loads better x

It was about 18 months after my first too. Now I'm 6mo pp after my second and I'm still full of aches and pains. Like pp said, partly from breastfeeding-cosleeping too.

But I'm not going to panic till I hit 18 months. It'll happen by itself, I just have to trust the process

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences. I was so active pre pregnancy and have always felt really robust. I now have a kind of fear of movement in case something else starts to hurt or I cause myself an injury.

@Cdoc i am still breastfeeding at night too. I wonder if hormonally this contributes to the aches? Sorry you’re in pain too.

@summertimessadness24 great to hear how great your body feels now :)

Around about 18 months for me too. I stopped breastfeeding at 20 months and that actually made a huge difference in how I felt. Most of the remaining aches and pains resolved after that.
