I had a c-section 6 weeks ago and have now been cleared by my GP to resume all normal activities. Breastfeeding has helped me shift the weight I put on during pregnancy but I'm aware that my stomach still has a little 'bump' and I definitely have a small overhang or pooch above my scar. My lower stomach still feels a little tender and swollen too. None of this really matters in the wider space of things and I know I'm very lucky to be making a good recovery but I would like to do what I can to minimise the above and I was wondering if anyone had any tips, tricks or experiences they could share? I've seen postpartum waist belts/trainers advertised online and thought this might be good for supporting my core and encouraging things to return to the correct shape! I've also heard that massage can be really effective. Thanks all!

Following as I’m in the exact same situation. I’ve started gently massaging but would be interested in what works.

Following with interest.

I had two vagainal births and snapped back.

Then had a c section three years ago and left with a very obvious "tum" shelf like pouch situation. That I can't seem to shift. I also had complete abdominal muscle separation which didn't help.

If you find the answer please share 😬

I am here for the same advice!

I have had three CS and had the pooch since the first. I have tried control pants (but not specifically ones for CS) and they didn't do anything.

The only thing that I think helped was returning to work after my first CS and wearing heels all day every day! I think it must have strengthened my deep core muscles and so improved but didn't eliminate the pooch.

My friend was told by her PT/pilates instructor that only surgery would get rid of it. Losing weight (to a point) and strengthening your deep core (though not via sits ups as they can make it worse) will help, but not eliminate it.
