Weak after c section 8 months later

Hey, I had my second c section 8 months ago, I wore the baby in the carrier and went for walks longer than I should have from around 2 weeks, now 8 months on I feel very weak in that area, especially if I wear the baby carrier or go for a run. Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any ideas how to resolve?

What is " that area" ? You abdomen? Pelvic floor?

The muscles around my incision to be precise. Ie. It's an effort to stand up

Have you seen your GP or a physio? If you are so weak that you struggle to stand up you need to be seen asap. It is not normal after 8 months.

It can be muscular weakness, after all your abdominal muscles have stretched and they might have separated during pregnancy, particularly in the case of a c-section.

Then there is the scar tissue. If you haven't allowed the scar to heal by using a carrier and rubbing the area, you might have tissue adhesions, where tissues become stuck together. And this causes discomfort or weakness.

A c -section can also cause nerve damage. That needs time, and you are not giving it time.

Stop using the baby carrier and stop running. If you don't have the muscle strength , you are just making things worse and worse. The jarring motion and increased intra-abdominal pressure will only strain further you weakened muscles. You need strong core muscles to run to stabilise the body. If you are weak, you compensate and that makes healing impossible.

Book the GP, request a physio and for the love of god, stop running! Go to the pool instead until you have identified the cause and have a plan.

You need physiotherapy to recover from a c section. The useless NHS won’t offer you it and will often refuse even if you ask. But you can pay privately, and it’s worth it. A good physio can rehabilitate your stomach muscles (which have probably separated) and your pelvic floor.

Look into doing a mummy mot to identify and help you solve the problem

it may be that your deep core muscles are weak still and your exercises has exacerbated that by exercising the outer muscles only

it’s not normal to not be able to stand up 8 months on though
